Alpha Pinene, a highly aromatic Terpene, is renowned for its crisp pine fragrance. Terpenes, aromatic hydrocarbons present in the essential oils of all plants and flowers, including some insects, boast a rich history dating back to Ancient Egyptian use for religious and ceremonial purposes. In recent times, terpenes have gained prominence in the medical community, particularly in relation to the cannabis plant.

Alpha-pinene, sometimes referred to simply as pinene or denoted as α-pinene, is a colourless natural oil with a fresh, earthy scent reminiscent of a pine forest. This terpene, responsible for the distinctive smell of evergreen trees, is also found in parsley, dill, basil, rosemary, and various citrus varieties.
